Letter: November 17, 2009

Dear Friends,

It has been over 4 ½ years since I have been a prisoner for the Lord and I marvel at how faithful He has been all this time. Though my heart sorrows from missing my family and friends, and though the loss of my freedom is an ongoing trial, I still rejoice in the Lord for all H is doing. I thank Him for what He is doing in my own heart and spiritual life, drawing me closer to Him each day, and for all He is doing through His Word in the lives of many here in Corcoran prison for His glory.

He has graciously allowed me to preach and teach the Word of God in many different situations, from small discipleship groups to biblical Greek classes to full sermons from the pulpit. I see inmates hungering and thirsting for God’s Word, inmates who were once living lives of crime and wickedness, but who now love to talk about their lord Jesus and wondering things like justification and regeneration and the glorious Kingdom to come!

Until we go to be with the Lord, the Christian life is both one of sorry and joy. Sorry over sin, ours and others’, sorrow over loss and pain, but joy over salvation and what God is doing in our lives through trials (Js 1:2). Please pray for the following:

-- Our Chapel and yard ministry—that it would minister to both the saved and loss
-- Salvation of Randy, Hong, Gerald, Joseph, Paul, Robert, Gary and Mark

I have many of you in my prayers. Will try to be faithful to update this site. May the Lord richly bless you.

In Christ,

David
